You wanna know what hurts?

Bending your fingernail back! Wowsa! The kids & I have been meeting our friends Courtaney & her son Abe at the park on Thursday's. I love it, by the way. This morning we were running late because I was trying to get everyone's shoes on & couldn't get Isabel's feet to fit in hers. She was in hysterics because she wanted to wear her pink plaid shoes. Getting shoes on kids is the hardest thing. I feel like I'm breaking their ankles, the way I try to force their feet in. So I said, screw it, and put a pair of the boys Nikes on her. She didn't like it, but she calmed down.

Then Jonah had pulled off his pants & I had to put those back on & get his shoes on. He wanted to wear my shoes instead. He kicked himself away from me & threw a tantrum. I went to grab him & lo & behold...pulled my fingernail back. Cripes! The scream of my pain made it pretty silent after that.

It's hard to see in the picture. I drew an arrow pointing to the white line where it was bent back. Three hours later, and it's throbbing. Yes, I know, I should be a hand model, right? :)
