Its Been Years...

Today was filled with some "firsts" for many years. We had to get a new washer because ours was on the fritz. We've had the thing for 10 years. Well, we have to have someone come in and take a look at our spickets & something else...I dunno. But, asking a mama to wait like 3 days to do laundry is insanity. I can't get it done as it is, but waiting a couple of days is out of the question. I packed up our laundry & went to the laundry mat. I hadn't been to the laundry mat since Nate & I first got married...like 11 years ago! It wasn't bad. I chose one that I didn't think would be "Scrotfest 2009." No offense, but laundry mats around my town are a meth addicts best friend.

I walked in that place like I knew what the heck I was doing. I know, it's laundry. But I had no idea how much it would be or anything. It's $2.00 per load to wash! Yikes. I only had 12 bucks on me. I washed 5 loads & only had enough money to dry four loads. Even then, the clothes were still very damp. Here's the embarrassing part....there was no hole for me to put the fabric softener in. Even though my washer was 10 years old, it still had a fabric softener holder. I walked up to a girl who had a fabric softener bottle & said, "Ok, I know this is probably a stupid question, but how do you know when to put the fabric softener in?" She said, "I didn't know either! Don't feel bad. You put it in during the rinse cycle." Ahhhhh.

Tonight...I jogged! What! You say? I drove out to Joanna's & walked & jogged with her. I hadn't ran since high school...when it was mandatory! Granted, we didn't run the whole time, but walking with Joanna is basically running. That girl power walks. I trailed behind her. I'm going to blame it in me being 5'2 & her being like 5'8. But we did it!
