The sickies and being a multiple

Jonah ended up staying home for four days this past week. He finally was able to go back to school on Friday.

We ended up going to the doctor again. On Wednesday, after 5 days of a fever, I called again. She told me that if he was still running a fever the next day, to call & he will be seen. Fevers scare the poopy out of me. So after running one Wednesday night, I called the doc on Thursday. His cough has been C R A Z Y as well. We had been giving him the Delsyum 12 hour cough stuff...you know, the expensive over the counter kind? It didn't do jack. Then I was told that doctors don't recommend cough suppressants for children his age. I'm guessing it is because they don't want to suppress their cough. They want them to hack up all that junk. Makes sense. So, they recommended a teaspoon of honey. And believe it or not, Jonah took the honey. Surprised the crap out of me.

Anyway..back to the doctor. They weighed him & he had lost a pound since Monday. He's not been eating. A pound is a huge deal (to me) in 3 days. It isn't a huge deal if it were a pound on me...but lets face it, I can't even lose a pound in a month. That's another subject. They did a chest x-ray & it came back normal. She said his ear infection was still pretty bad and she changed his antibiotics. Luckily, he hasn't ran another fever since Thursday morning. Lets hope we're in the clear. However, Isabel has had a yucky nose & Jasper has developed a cough. I, as well, will be taking NyQuil tonight because I'm not feeling hot.

I've decided that I need to do more things with the kids...one on one. Jonah cried & cried because he didn't want to go back to school. It broke my heart. He said he wanted to stay home with me. I know it is because they never get all of my attention. It always has to be shared between two other little ones. Even though he was sick, he still loved being home with me. He loved that I would take him on small errands and that he was the only one. That is one downfall when it comes to multiples. It seems like they have to share everything...including mama & daddy's attention. Sniff, sniff.

Here he is in the doctor's office showing off his stickers.
I knew he was feeling better because he was being his usual Jonah. He was checking for outlets everywhere, asking if he could flip the switches on the lamps, crawling under things, etc. This was while we were waiting for his x-ray.
Here he is, all up in this lady's business. I can't believe she never turned around. I don't know if she wasn't aware he was there, or what. It was hard to not notice.
