YUMMY TREATS!
My aunt Nancy brought us some gifts & fudge tonight. My cousin's wife Joanna made the fudge. Yep..she's the one from Kentucky, so you know she knows how to cook. Big Cat (aka Nancy...Big Cat is what my cousin, Caroline, and I used to call her) brought gifts for all of us. What a sweetheart, she is. She made Iz a beautiful Princess pillow & a blanket for her baby (which Isabel is using for herself tonight) & a kitty. She got the boys' sweatshirts, Crayola markers & books & stuffed animals. They loved it all! And they loved Nancy...they didn't want her to go. And of course, Nate & I got fudge & a cool flame less candle & a psychedelic dish rag. Big Cat crochets & she makes the coolest things. So, I believe I have eaten 4 pieces of fudge so far.
Speaking of.......I went to the store tonight & got some goods to make cookies & stuff. Nate is a candy maker & experiments a lot. I got home from the store & he said, "Did you get me real, unsalted butter?" I said, "Yes" & told him I got myself the good ol' stick margarine. He says, "What! You should get the real stuff. That stuff you buy has so much fat in it." I say, "When did we ever care about that?" Nate & I aren't exactly the picture of fitness & health. Since when did I marry Richard Simmons?
If anyone knows how to make Fondant or where to buy it, let me know. He has been obsessed with this stuff. He watches the Food Network & that show, "Ace Of Cakes." Yea, this is the guy who plays in a heavy metal band. As a matter of fact, he told me that after their last show, he & the bass player, Jeff, were talking about Ace Of Cakes & fondant on the way home. Hmmmm? Interesting.

I think I've seen fondant at Michaels. Never done anything with it but I've wandered through the cake decorating section.
All I can say is YUM YUM YUM! That stuff looks delicious!
I've never made Fondant, but I have seen it at craft stores in the baking aisle.

Thanks mama's! I'm cracking up because my husband read these comments & called me this afternoon to let me know that he was going to Michaels. He works an hour away from us & they have one over by his work.
So he called me & said he found it! And he bought a square pan because he wants to make a square cake. I'll post a picture if makes one.
