JC's surgery was yesterday. It went well. He had his adenoids removed & tubes placed in his ears. Seems as though this is not uncommon these days. He was a trooper & a fighter (as the nurses said). This boy doesn't even like when someone (doctor or nurse) comes towards him. We had to be there at 6 am for surgery at 7:30 am. It is an hour drive to the hospital. Needless to say, it was a very long morning. We were home around noon.
They gave him something to relax & I held him while we waited for the doctors. It seemed to take a few minutes for him to relax, but he did. He kept sticking his tongue out & spitting & laughing. It was so funny. His eyes started to look like slits. Luckily, they put his IV in while in the operating room & after he was under anesthesia. The surgery only took about 1/2 hour or so. He ended up with a scratch across his forehead. The nurses said he definitely did not like coming out. He only cried for a while & then calmed down. They gave him pain meds & he pretty much slept the rest of the day. Today, it was like he hadn't had surgery. It's definitely not fun seeing your baby go thru this. I'm so glad God took care of him.
