Mamaw's back yard

The kids enjoy the "clubhouse" and demon slide in my mom's backyard. Growing up, my brother & his friends would go up in the tree house & hang out. They would burn leaves (without mom or Duane knowing, of course) & probably talk about girls. It is kind of cool that now my kids love going up there. There better be no burning of leaves or any other substance, though!

Seriously, check out this monster! Mom & Duane got it a few years back. I think I was one of the firsts to try it out. I almost died that day. Mom stood at the bottom while I saw Nate looking on from the upstairs kitchen window. Mom says, "Be careful, Shannon. It goes really fast." She wasn't kidding. I flew down that thing like a greased pig. As I approached the bottom, I flew about 5 feet & did a somersault. It hurt. After I got up, I started laughing & so did mom. I could see Nate in the window shaking his head like, "I could have told you that was going to happen."
