Mary Abigail

Mary Abigail (Abi) was born last Saturday, March 27. She is my newest niece & the daughter of Nate's sister, Rachel & her husband, Matt. This is Matt & Rach's first child together. She is, however, their 5th child combined.

Abi (and her mommy & daddy) have had a rough road. She was born a few weeks early & weighed in at 4 lbs. 1 oz. Before her arrival, she was diagnosed with Trisomy 5 Mosaicism, a heart condition. The doctor's also thought she may have other complications. After she was born, they determined it wasn't as extensive as they thought. It's still scary, as she still has some issues. On Monday, April 5, Miss Abi will have open heart surgery. Prayers, positive thoughts...anything, would be appreciated. This little girl is a fighter.

I have to tell you; I didn't know what to expect before walking in to that NICU. I haven't been in one since my babies were in. It was definitely emotional for me. It is something that is hard for any parent to go through.
