I love this town~Read about the ear biting incident...Seriously!

Jeffery H. Guffey, 31, said he was riding his bicycle on the 800 block of North 20th Street on Wednesday afternoon with two girls when an SUV sped by him. He yelled at the driver to slow down, he said, because there were children nearby.

According to Guffey's account to police, the driver, a man unknown to him, turned around, stopped and got out. "Guffey stated the man made comments about him mouthing off to him and he wasn't going to talk to him like that," an officer reported.Guffey answered, "I'm just asking you to slow down. I don't want trouble, but there are kids out," and the man hit him in the face and knocked him onto the ground.

The assailant hit Guffey a few more times in the face then bit his ear twice, spat the pieces back out at him and tried to bite him a third time."He was trying to knee me and I kept blocking him and blocking him," he said. "He was a real heavyset dude." Guffey described the man as about three times his size.The man got up and drove away. Guffey said he remembered seeing a few kids in the car. Guffey told the officer he didn't know who the man was but described him as "nuts."

According to the police report, "It was also evident that a large portion of Guffey's left ear was missing" and he had "obvious injuries and was bleeding from his head." The missing piece was recovered. "We found it back where the fight had occurred," he said.Using a description of the attacker and his vehicle, Nicholson said, "We were able to track him down."
