The Circus/Animal Torture Show

Saturday evening, we went to the circus with Andy, Joanna & Carter. We had so much fun...Minus the fact that the circus was pretty ghetto (no tent, acrobats, people on unicycle's, etc.) and the torture of animals. I've been to a circus one time and that is when I was a little girl. When you are that little, you don't think about the cruelty, you just think about seeing Tigers & Elephants. I guess I didn't think, "Hmmm, how do they get the animals to do what they want?" Now I know why the Ringmaster said, "Absolutely no video can be taken during the show, no video during the show!" My guess is because they don't want to see the video's posted on YouTube showing the trainers whipping the poor lions & tigers.

The animals were adorable. You want to know what was funny? The guy who sold me the popcorn was one of the trampoline guys. The girl who sold sno-cones was a trainer. It was hilarious. There were probably 20 people involved in the circus and they each did 5 different jobs. They make a KILLING off this thing.

The kids did enjoy it. Well, Isabel not so much. She cried when we walked in. She held on tight through the entire thing. Carter cried, only because he didn't want to leave. Jasper cried because he wanted to ride the elephant again. Yes, we rode elephants. Joanna rode with Carter & Jonah and a random guy & his daughter. I rode with Jasper & a random girl. Riding an elephant is scary! Joanna talked about the elephant's spine digging in to her who-ha. That explains why she wanted to ride it over & over again...hee, hee! Just kidding, Jo. And who knew that Camels were that HUGE? Not me. I will say this about the Circus...the popcorn was good.

Joanna? Do you notice my teeth? Let me explain. I have a tooth missing from when I was supposed to have a root canal & then went on bed rest with the trips. After I had them, that tooth was broke & I had it pulled. In the original picture, you can see the black hole in the back of my teeth, but with a little help from Photo Shop, I magically have that tooth! And Joanna's are just that naturally beautiful, even if she does smoke & has never had braces! Gimme a break!

Carter is so brave. That boy will do anything!

Chicken Wire...this is what was supposed to save us if those animals broke through their gate!
